Introducing the industry-leading STAR LINEUP
A breakthrough in pure comfort
- Mitsubishi offers more ENERGY STAR systems than ever.
- ESystems incorporate eco-comfort technology, triple-allergen filtration, and whisper-quiet operation.
- New technology revolutionizes the heat pump.
- Space-saving design means easy and unobtrusive installation.
Mitsubishi offers more ENERGY STAR systems than ever, and is the industry leader.
Mitsubishi Electric has 15 new Energy Star rated ductless systems with dramatic increases all the way up to 26 SEER ( Operates for as little as .04 cents an hour! That's just $48.00 per season).
Mitsubishi ductless air conditioners and heat pumps incorporate eco-comfort technology, triple-allergen filtration, and are whisper-quiet.
Eco-comfort technology makes these systems smarter in how they use energy and minimizes their impact on the environment. Plus there are many advanced features like the i-see™ Sensor, that automatically detects room temperature differences and adjusts for greater comfort. And Mitsubishi's triple filtration system dramatically reduces allergens.
Other updates to the line include a sleeker, lighter color finish and front access to the terminal block plus now there are new controls with a Smart Set button for ultimate comfort. And now the indoor units operate starting at a19dB(A). That sound is even quieter than a human whisper.
New technology revolutionizes the heat pump.
Unlike older, inefficient heat pumps, there is no cold air delivery with these systems. Larger coils heat faster, and the Hot Start system doesn't activate the fan until the desired temperature is reached so it never blows cold air. What's more, select Mitsubishi models use Hyper-Heating INVERTER (H2i®) technology that operates effectively down to -13º F. With this improvement these models give true year-round comfort from a single system.
These ductless air conditioners and heat pumps provide easy installation, simple service and longer warranties.
Mitsubishi Electric's units are easy to install with no ductwork. They're also designed for easy servicing although with their industry-leading reliability record, you won't have to worry much about that. Better yet, they've extended the warranties to seven years on compressors and five years on parts.
Select the Right Capacity
This handy sizing calculator will help you select the right system on an efficient room-by-room basis. Always take in to account your climate, insulation, excessive glass and other relevant factors. Rooms with conditioned space above them require less cooling than rooms upstairs that have attic space above them. Always adjust for poor insulation, excessive or drafty windows, etc.
For rooms below an air conditioned space, apply an additional .7 factor to your final Btu outcome.
For example, if your Btu requirement via this calculator is 18,000 Btu's: 18,000 Btu's x .7 factor = 12,600 Btu's required. When in doubt, it is okay to go up a size or two. Unlike standard non-variable systems, The Mitsubishi INVERTER technology allows the system to adjust to the actual room requirements in both heating and cooling.
The Mitsubishi system will provide as little as 30% of its rated capacity when the demand is low so oversizing is no longer an issue. With standard central air conditioning and heating systems, you must carefully match the air delivery with the room requirements.
Ordinary central air conditioning systems are normally sized based on an outdoor temperature of 93 degrees fairenheit. When the outdoor temperature exceeds 93 degrees, the system struggles to keep up. When the temperature is significantly lower, the system can short-cycle, meaning it cools quickly without the proper run time for thorough dehumidification. Either way, this is a significant short-coming of non-variable-capacity central systems.
The advanced INVERTER-driven compressor at the heart of the Mitsubishi ductless air conditioners and heaters provides variable capacity control for the compressor, slowing the system to adjust to the specific room-by-room demands of the interior space as needed - not the hard start and stop of a traditional system in most homes. How Ductless Air Conditioners Work
Easy Installation
Easy installation with no disorder or disruption to your life.
- Installing A Mitsubishi Ductless Air Conditioner system is easy
- Different indoor unit style options are available to meet any need
- The outdoor units, which have a small footprint and can be hidden by foliage, complete the system.
Typical installation
One of the great features of the Mitsubishi Ductless system is its ease of installation. A qualified contractor can usually install it in about a day. There is little to no ductwork required so you don't have to worry about a disorder in your home interrupting your life or costly remodeling expenses. The sleek, ductless indoor unit mounts discreetly within the space, and a pair of small refrigerant lines plus power and control wiring, connect it to the outdoor unit through a small three-inch opening in the wall.

Different styles of indoor units

Ducted style. When a ducted model is selected as the indoor unit that best fits your need, it can easily be installed either in the ceiling or beneath the floor in a crawl space or basement. This style accommodates the use of short duct runs and registers to deliver and return air from the interior space, back to the unit.

Wall-mounted style. A wall-mounted ductless unit mounts high on a wall and is unobtrusive to the visual area within a room. The wall unit models are a neutral white in color and have features that enhance their functions within the space.
Floor-mounted style. The floor-mounted ductless model attaches to the wall six inches above the floor in areas where there is minimal or no wall space.

Ceiling Recessed Cassette Style. When installed, the flush-mounted grille is all you see. With its fresh air intake capability and four-way discharge airflow, the PL series ceiling cassette gives you plenty of fresh, comfortable air.
Outdoor units complete the Mitsubishi ductless air conditioning and heat pump system. The outdoor units for each of the systems have a small physical footprint to take up as little space outside your home as possible and can be hidden by foliage.

The Heat is On - Mitsubishi Hyper-Heat Technology
Award Winning Earth Friendly Design
Eco-comfort Technology Integrated into Every System
Our eco-comfort technology is friendly to you and the planet.
- Industry-leading eco-comfort technology is built into every system.
- We care about our environment, and our products reflect that concern.
- Our products won the coveted 2009 GREEN PRODUCT award.
- Eco-friendly refrigerant: Environmentally friendly R410A refrigerant offers zero Ozone Depletion Potential (ODP) and allows for higher heat transfer coefficient (COP). This innovative feature means a reduction in equipment size, a reduction in piping size, and higher pressure for greater performance. Smaller equipment also means less impact on the environment at the end of the product's life cycle.
- Standard compliance: All Mitsubishi Electric HVAC products follow standards and guidelines as set forth by the ENERGY STAR, EPA, ARI, UL, ASHRAE, ETL, and ISO.
- Recycling design: Our air conditioners are specially designed to allow for easy cleaning, efficient disassembly, and more practical recycling. The number of parts used in indoor units has been reduced by adopting modular components, a process which also simplifies materials separation for recycling. To date as much as 84 percent of the materials used to build a Mr. Slim system is recyclable.
- Smart energy usage: Mitsubishi Electric INVERTER zoning systems smartly deliver only the amount of capacity needed, unlike a typical full-power ON system. Individual indoor air handlers are installed within the zone. These air handlers measure the load for that specific zone and for added efficiency deliver only the capacity needed directly to the space compared to energy lost in long duct runs.
If the zone is not being used, you do not have to condition the space. Smarter sensing technology and microprocessors enhance the system's ability to measure room temperature accurately for added comfort, performance and efficiency. - Minimal impact on landfills: All air-conditioning products use long-life washable filters.
More than a tag line, it is a philosophy
Because our systems help you reduce your energy consumption in your home, you are doing your part to leave less of a footprint on the environment, all while saving money on your energy bill.
Mitsubishi Electric has embraced the Environmental Vision 2021 initiative, which sets dramatic goals for reducing greenhouse gas emissions (for example: reducing Carbon Dioxide emissions from product usage by 30%), recycling resources, and raising environmental awareness by 2021.
Industry awards
In 2009 Mitsubishi Electric was given the GREEN PRODUCT award by the industry leading publication Building Products Magazine . We were one of only 16 products to receive this award for energy efficiency, resource efficiency, and health and comfort.
We even promote sustainability through our distributor network by offering training classes that instruct participants on the proper methods of installing systems and handling and recovering refrigerants. The company provides increased warranties for contractors who complete commissioning reports that confirm proper system installations.
System Operational Costs
We all know what air conditioners can cost to operate but forget everything you know and consider the penny: That's right the penny. Because as few as 4 of them will get you one hour of comfort with the newest Mitsubishi Ductless Split System. That means you can bask in 100 hours of comfort for as little as $4.00
That's just .04 cents per hour!
That means the energy required to provide the comfort you deserve is more affordable than ever .
Imagine never having to worry about high power bills again; just dial in a comfortable setting and walk away. In fact, with SEER ratings of up to 26.0, the Mitsubishi Mr. Slim ductless air conditioner is one the most efficient and cost-effective systems you can buy . Mitsubishi engineers designed these systems to provide peace of mind from both a comfort and energy standpoint.
Mitsubishi Electric ductless cooling and heating systems are dramatically more efficient than traditional central systems. Utilizing compressors that automatically adjust to the changing environment of the space they are installed in allows the system to use only the energy that is needed.
*Operating cost estimates based on a nationwide average of .12 cents per KW of energy usage, using a 9000 BTU, 26 SEER model. Your actual costs may vary.
Here's how to determine the hourly energy usage cost of your selected system.
Locate your utility bill and look for the "Kw/hr cost. This will be expressed as cents per hour of kilowatt hour consumption. Locate this cost per Kw/hr on your bill. Use the chart below to determine your hourly cost based on the selected capacity and your local energy costs (Cents per Kw hour.

*National Average
The graph above is comparing the various hourly operating costs in cents. To the left is the Btu rating (1) with an assigned seer rating next to it. Across the top (2) are the various local costs per hour of your electricity. The 9,000/26 model is 9,000 Btu's with a SEER rating of 26. To the right are the different hourly operating costs for that model. The cost per hour of .014 means that 9000 Btu 26 SEER system costs 1.4 cents per hour to operate. If you see .04 that means 4 cents per hour.
Translated to English, this means that if the hourly cost of operation of a 12,000 Btu system is .07, or 7 cents per hour and you ran it 10 hours a day for 30 days, your total utility cost for the entire month would be just $21.00. Compare that to an average 12 year old, 8 SEER, 3 ton central system that consumes 55 cents per hour and the same 10 hours a day for 30 days would cost $165.00 for the month.
That's 785% (almost 8 times) more to operate the inefficient 3 ton system. Granted, the capacity of the 3 ton is about 3 times of our example system but you can see where energy savings lay - In the Seer rating.
Three of our 12,000 Btu systems would equal the capacity of the older 3 ton central system and would cost just $63.00 a month to operate, using 62% less energy.

Mitsubishi Advanced Air Filtration
Allergen Filtration
Mitsubishi ductless systems feature allergen filtration for cleaner, healthier air.
- Multi-part filtration removes contaminants
- Anti-allergen filter provides pristine air
- Easy-to-clean filters last up to 10 years
It's a fact that surprises many people. The air quality inside your home is often worse than the air quality outside. Mitsubishi cooling and heating systems use a sophisticated multi-part filter system to remove contaminants such as allergens, viruses, and bacteria from the air as they circulate within a room.
Mitsubishi's ductless air conditioners and heat pumps feature one of the most sophisticated and effective filtration and disinfection systems available anywhere, all at no extra cost. The hybrid catechin filter absorbs odor-causing gases. A blue-enzyme, anti-allergen filter reduces germs, bacteria, and viruses and helps trap dust, pollens, mites, and other particles that plague allergy sufferers. As a result you enjoy pristine air 24/7.

Easy Maintenance
Although the filtration system is sophisticated, it's easy to clean and maintain. You can perform this task in a matter of minutes.
Simply open the indoor unit's filter access; slide the screens out; wash them off; allow them to dry completely, and then slide them back into the unit.
And with regular cleaning, these filters can last up to 10 years. This capability not only saves money, but is also good for the environment.

How is the Commercial P series different?
The Mitsubishi P Series commercial heating and cooling systems are different from competitive systems in that they are designed for dedicated commercial and industrial applications. Here is a list of the features that make them different from residential lines:
Installation, Service, and Maintenance Ease
Mitsubishi P-series commercial outdoor units are designed with easy service and maintenance in mind. Maintenance points are located behind easy-access panels to make installation and service effortless for a trained technician. Four-way piping access allows connections in four directions: front, rear, right and bottom (all PUY/PUZ models)
Redi-charged Systems
Mitsubishi commercial P-series outdoor units come with enough refrigerant to be installed 70 feet (100 feet on 3.5 ton models) from the indoor units. Linesets can be run up to 165 feet from outdoor units when additional charge is added.
Hot-Start System
Heat pump systems use hot-start technology to provide warmth from the beginning by ramping up fan speed as the coil warms. When you want warm air without annoying drafts, that's what you'll get.
Low Ambient Operation
The ability of these units to operate effectively in low temperatures, along with the addition of a low-ambient wind baffle accessory, allows for a space to be air conditioned even when it is as low as 0 degrees F outside. This cooling ability is important when dealing with electronic equipment rooms, telecom substations, surveillance mechanical rooms, restaurant kitchens, fitness centers and more.
Auto Fan Speed Feature
(Excludes PEA model)
Choose from multiple set fan speeds or auto fan speed to ensure faster achievement of room temperature. Auto fan speed mode allows the fan to adjust its speed based on the degree of differential between set-point and room temperature.
Bring in Outside Air
Ducting can be installed with minimal on-site work to bring in outside air for all but wall mounted indoor units, creating a healthier indoor environment.
